What if your world was filled with wonder, abundance, and a sense of purpose and interconnectedness?

As I learned the Seven Secrets of Plant Medicine, my entire worldview shifted – I became more alive inside – I began to sense a ONENESS with nature that must have been what the ancient ones felt – and continue to inspire us to find today.  Enjoy this introduction to the Seven Secrets of Plant Medicine.

1.  EVERY PLANT HAS A PURPOSE.

There are no bad plants.  Every plant has a purpose.  It could be medicine. It could be food.  It could be utilitarian – rope, tools, shelter for example.

Just like every person.  In our natural state, when we are honored, we awaken to a deep knowing that there are no bad people.  Every person, every plant, is special. Every moment is special. You are special. Notice this, and your journey begins.

2.  PLANTS INVITE YOU TO NOTICE ABUNDANCE.

WE are invited to stop THINKING about the world and start NOTICING it. It does not matter if we THINK we are always provided for”, it matters (and is life changing) when we NOTICE we are provided for.  Every where I look, when I use my heart, my mind, my spirit – I notice how well I the world of plants is provided for – and how they provide for us.   Notice every plant is a gift – a gift of either – Food – Medicine – Utility.

3.  THE PLANTS YOU NEED FOR YOUR HEALING GROW CLOSE TO YOUR HOME.

You don’t need expensive and exotic cures from far away lands, once you begin to see more with native eyes.  Touch and explore the world around you.  You will start to find that The Spirit Within All – knows what you need, and places it near you – at all times.  We need to learn how to see with our Native Eyes again.  My elders taught me to notice what plants grow around people’s homes.  They will tell you about their hidden conditions, because what you need, ALWAYS grows close to home.

4.   PLANTS DON’T HEAL DISEASES, PLANTS HEAL PEOPLE.

We don’t focus on healing a disease – we notice what is being provided for healing for the specific person.

As a beginner healer, first we learn that a specific plant cures cancer.

The Healer with Native Eyes notices what plants grow around the home of their client, for their personal and family healing. Plants heal and BALANCE people.  They do this in many ways.  Some you will learn today, some will blossom within your mind and spirit for the rest of your life.

Remember, if you focus on healing disease – disease stays in your consciousness.  Focus on healing people, and people become central in your mind and spirit.  This also helps heal the healer.

5.   PLANTS INVITE US TO WALK IN BALANCE

When we realize that the plants around us are there for our healing, we get to become honest about how we are using this gift we call life. Are we in balance? Are we respecting life? If I am out of balance, and use a plant to restore my balance, I have sacrificed a life. How can I walk more in balance, so that I don’t need to harvest as many plants, and so I help them grow in balance and harmony with people.

6.   PLANTS TEACH US HOW TO SEE ESSENCE.

Just being able to name a plant it is the sign of the beginner. You can begin to see the essence of plants in just an afternoon with a mentor. Be still and notice the qualities of the plant you are with. Notice the color and shape of the flower, what organ / tissue does it remind you of. Where is this plant growing? What do you notice when you touch it?

Example:  Garlic. Garlic is STICKY, like white blood cells. Sticky Garlic. We learn through the sense of  TOUCH how garlic (and white blood cells) heal.
Example: Blue chicory flowers. Blue is calming, chicory tea is calming – like the sky. We learn how to SEE UNIVERSALS.
Example:  Gravel Root growing in rocky soil is better for dissolving kidney stones than Gravel Root growing in a swampy, loose, or mucky soil.  The ENVIRONMENT in which the plant grows – tells us of it’s healing gifts.

7. PLANTS TEACH US INNOCENCE AND TRUST.

Plants can’t run, they can’t hide. All they can do is be with us, and live with innocence and trust.
